All point type distributor's received at TAE for service and repair are completely visually inspected prior to being fully dissembled.
The vacuum advance control unit is tested and control arm travel checked to assure it is within factory specifications. The point plate and advance plate are then checked and replaced as required.
The distributor shaft is removed, cleaned, inspected for wear and run-out. All distributor housing bushings and bearings are checked with precision measuring equipment and replaced as needed.
After a through cleaning and inspection the distributor is then lubricated and assembled. New points and condenser are installed the distributor goes to the test bench to check mechanical and vacuum advance. With our test equipment and road test simulator we are able to set-up your distributor to offer perfect operation for your application.
