All magnetos received for repair service at Toledo Auto Electric are visually inspected and tested for output voltage before disassembly.
After our preliminary testing and inspection the mag unit is completely dissembled. The cap is inspected for cracks and carbon tracking and replaced if nessicary.
The points and advance assembly are checked for proper spring tension and contact surfaces for arching or burning. Any part failing our rigid inspection are replaced.
The magneto housing and all metal parts are cleaned. The coil windings are tested, magnets recharged using a custom made test bench/operation simulator constricted by Brad and Mark's grandfather in 1932 and still in perfect operating order today.
After complete reassembly the mag is rigidly tested on our simulator for true road operation. This complete form of testing assures the customer trouble free operation.
