Carburetor and Fuel System Service

After your carburetor arrives at Toledo Auto Electric it is assigned a repair ID. Master service technician George will personally complete the entire reconditioning of your product.
After a through visual inspection to check for broken or missing parts the carburetor is then completely disassembled. Electric choke thermostat is checked for proper heat range and working performance, choke vacuum pull off is tested to assure proper operation.
With the complexity of the new computer control carburetors special attention is required in the testing of the resistance and operation voltage of the tps switch along with test for DC current draw of the mixture control solenoid to assure they are within factory specifications.
All castings and metal parts are immersed in our special cleaning solution overnight. After removal all parts are then hand brushed then put in an acid bath to further clean and brighten all parts prior to reassembly.

George uses precision measuring devices to check the throttle shaft and bushings for wear. Any deviance from factory measurement specifications require the busings replacement. This operation assures a factory fresh rebuild that will offer proper operation, fuel economy and EPA emission compliance.
All soft gaskets, seals and diaphragms are replaced along with the needle, seat and float assembly. All welch plugs and caps are then epoxyed and sealed. The carburetor is bench adjusted and flow checked then sealed with a clear weather proof coating or spray painted back to factory color.
